The Notre Dame Sponsorship Transition
Top Five Developments Parents Should Know - October 2006
News from the Notre Dame Board of Governance
5) The Governance Board has created a new not-for-profit entity registered in the State of Illinois as Notre Dame College Prep (legal title).
4) On Aug. 15, the Priests of Holy Cross received an initial proposal from the Notre Dame Governance Board regarding the transfer of ownership of the school to this new not-for-profit entity.
3) Since Aug. 15, officials from the Notre Dame Governance Board have been meeting with leadership of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Indiana Province of the Congregation of Holy Cross to review and revise the initial proposal. The meetings have been fruitful and positive. Within just a few months time, much progress has been made. The official transfer of ownership and governance is ongoing in a timely way.
News from the Notre Dame High School Administration
2) As the transition continues, NDHS continues to implement elements of its first comprehensive strategic plan, The Notre Dame Way. Both programmatic and fundraising aspects of the plan have begun to be introduced to the wider Notre Dame community as we look forward to a vibrant future. Highlights include the Personal Growth Plan, the establishment of the Center for College and Life Preparation which, among other things, will continue to research the benefits of a single-sex learning environment for young men, new faith and service programs and the development of our EPIC (Excellence, Preparation for College and Life, Inclusiveness and Notre Dame Charism) pillars in providing the best education for young men.
1) The 2006-2007 school year is off to a great start. The entire Notre Dame community recently enjoyed a spirited Spirit Week, academic study has been focused, Walkathon and Football Mania fundraising have met with success, many of Notre Dame’s athletic teams are enjoying superb seasons and our hallways are filled with NDHS’ trademark blend of faith, family and fun. The sponsorship transition discussions continue to happen at levels which do not impact the daily life of the school.
