It was back to Football this weekend as the ND Football Program set sights on their 2008 season.  Scheduling difficulties saw the Dons line up against three different opponents.  The ND Sophomores, under the direction of Coach Augie Genovesi, started off the Friday night festivities by beating Fenwick 12 - 0.  An outstanding defensive effort, coordinated by Coach Joe Masciopinto,
class OF 2000, was led by linebackers Alex Murphy and Connor Thomas.  A huge defensive play by corner Anthony Abate saved the shutout for the Dons.  Touchowns for ND were scored by Connor Thomas and Jim Leyhane.

The Varsity Dons exploded on the scene as 7 different players scored touchdowns (Tom Treslo, Julian Burgos, Joe Edwards, Dave Messina, Mike Reserreccion, Matt Bascom, Matt McNulty)and John Jennings added 4 extra points as ND defeated Sullivan 46 - 0.  The ND Offense led by QB, Eric Hennessey (5 comp./6 att. - 107 yds)amassed 297 total yards for the night.  Linebackers Billy Hughes, Sean O' Hara, and Jeremy Burgos were the tackling leaders who helped to hold the Tigers offense in check, and free safety Pat Lazzara saved the shutout with an outstanding tackle at the 10 yd line.

Thr ND Frosh had a tough assignment as they played the Walther Lutheran Frosh-Soph football team and lost 21 - 14.
The Frosh Offense was engineered by QB Nick Pieruccini.  ND scores came on a reverse run by Conner Gavin and a blocked punt by Rocco Fagiano.

All teams play Westosha Central H.S. from Salem, Wisconsin this coming weekend.  The Sophomores and Varsity travel North on Friday night, and the Freshman play at ND on Saturday.
