Cross & Anchor
In the fall of 1956, Cross & Anchor was founded by Rev. Joseph Stroot, CSC. It takes its name from a symbol on the coat of the Congregation of Holy Cross. The underlying philosophy of Cross & Anchor stems from the belief that, as Fr. Stroot said, "teenagers are capable of great things given the right challenge." Today, the same philosophy prevails as students in this group serve their peers and other guests of Notre Dame High School.
