It is that time of year again when we are gearing up for our annual Spirit of Notre Dame Dinner Auction. The theme this year is Chicago , and our own Chicago version of “Spreading the News.” The “News” that we are celebrating, and want to spread, is that Notre Dame High School has a renewed vitality and the future is so exciting.
This fundraiser is the only major fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event greatly help with the operating costs of the school. What does that mean for us? It means that the success of this event greatly impacts what we pay in tuition. In addition, it helps fund all the programs that enable our boys to get the great education that they receive. So, we all have a vested interest in making sure that the event is a roaring success. Besides, this event is always a fabulous evening of great camaraderie, wonderful food and lively entertainment. We hope that you will join us, but more importantly, we need your help right now.

We are proud to announce the 17th Annual Spirit of Notre Dame Dinner Auction, "Start Spreading the News," will be back at Notre Dame High School in Niles for the second time since 2002. This will provide an exciting opportunity for more than 500 of our alumni, family and friends to personally visit the NDHS campus and for local merchants to partner with Notre Dame as part of this historic occasion.
The 2007 Dinner Auction "The Beat Goes On" was a tremendous success. Over 600 people enjoyed festivities in the spectacular setting under the enormous tent adjacent to the George Holley Science and Technology Wing. The raffles, silent and live auction items and the food and drinks were fabulous.
This year's auction is sure to be just as successful with your help. Our 2008 Dinner Auction depends on gifts donated through the generosity of local businesses and others. We are asking that you consider contributing to the success of the Dinner Auction this year by donating a gift that will be used in our Silent or Live Auction. As a contributor, you or your company name will be listed in our Auction Program, on our website and will receive visibility among the Notre Dame Community, friends and advertisers. We also welcome ads for our program. All donations are tax-deductible.
As you know, Notre Dame holds a proud record of achievement and academic excellence in the community. For more than 50 years, the school has prepared thousands of young men for college and life beyond by providing an education of the mind and heart in an environment where leaders in faith, scholarship and service are developed. As parents and alumni, many of whom live in your community, look ahead to Notre Dame’s next 50 years, we continue our efforts to ensure vibrant educational opportunities for the young men of Notre Dame.
This year on Saturday, April 19 we will hold our Spirit of Notre DameDinner Auction under an elegant tent adjacent to our George H. Holley Science & Technology Center. This evening will directly benefit the Dons of Notre Dame and celebrate our commitment to educating their minds and hearts. With your help, we hope to make it the most successful benefit to date.
