St. Andrew Kim Dae-Gon Scholar Program

Total - $725

The St. Andrew Kim Dae-Gon Scholar Program, housed within the Student Counseling Center, is designed to provide international students with an opportunity to experience a faith-based college preparatory education in the United States. The program provides support and assistance to international students who may experience difficulty in school due to language barriers and cultural differences.

Payment Options

Full payment for the 2008-2009 academic year is due on or before July 1, 2008.

For families who would like to spread their payments over the school year, Notre Dame High School has partnered with LaSalle Bank to offer payment plans through the bank. All paperwork is done at Notre Dame High School, either in person or by mail, but payments are made directly to LaSalle.

Families who choose the bank payment program may make a down payment to Notre Dame and pay the balance over the school year or may choose to spread out the total payment amount. Fees for the payment program are low and calculated on a declining balance. Details on the payment program will be mailed in May. It is not necessary to come to Notre Dame if you have no questions. The paperwork can be handled by mailing the completed form to Notre Dame. The application form is a simple, one-page form. No applications are rejected.

Financial Assistance Available

Financial assistance is available to families who demonstrate a need by completing Notre Dame's financial assistance process. This process requires the completion of an application which is mailed to Private School Aid Service (PSAS), an independent, outside agency. To obtain an application online, click Private School Aid Service (PSAS). You can obtain information about filling out the online PSAS application by clicking here. Notre Dame High School's code for PSAS is 2327.

PSAS then evaluates the needs of the applicants and makes recommendations to Notre Dame on the amount of assistance needed by individual families. Most private schools follow this or a similar procedure.

Notre Dame is not bound by the recommendations of PSAS and special circumstances are always considered. It is always necessary, however, to complete the application and to do so by the deadline.

Decisions are not made until a student has been accepted by the admissions committee. All students who receive financial assistance are required to participate in a work program. Families are also asked to participate in an outreach program by sharing their experiences at Notre Dame with prospective students and their families.

Financial Aid Applications for the 2008-2009 school year are due February 11, 2008

Incoming Freshman Applications are due February 19, 2008

The due date for Financial Aid Applications for the 2008-2009 school year is February 11, 2008. Incoming freshmen will have a February 19, 2008 due date based on when acceptance letters are mailed. Applications will be available when school reopens after the Christmas holiday on January 8, 2008.

Because of the earlier due date, documents from 2006 (rather than 2007) will be accepted as proof of financial need. Late applications cannot be accepted since all 2006 documents should be readily available.

Fundraising

The cost of educating each student in 2007-2008 will be $10,875, while the tuition and fees charged total $8,700. The difference between tuition and the cost of education per student is a tuition grant awarded to each student. Funding for this tuition grant is covered through fundraising efforts involving our entire Notre Dame family.
