The Moreau Program

Welcome to the auxiliary curriculum and syllabus of the Moreau Program of Notre Dame High School. This is a new program at Notre Dame that has been designed to complement and support the regular curriculum. The program is being developed because in the last few centuries there have been enormous increases in both knowledge and the arts. This is important because, as a great philosopher once truly said "knowledge is power," and the recent explosion in knowledge has transformed the modern world, mostly for the better, especially where the populations are more educated. The improvements in the general quality of life have not only been in physical and economic welfare, but in cultural wealth and in the joy of life for great portions of the earth's population. Thus, knowledge, and also the arts, which are derived from knowledge, are truly among the greatest of all the treasures of modern civilization.
